About us

Everyone's favourite family day out, the Teddy Bears' Picnic, will be held on Sunday 17 October from 10.30am to 4pm at Rosehill Gardens.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of this iconic event that raises significant funds to support the life-saving work of The Children's Hospital at Westmead. For three decades, families have been packing their teddy bears and picnic blankets and enjoying this very special event for a very special cause.

The 2010 Teddy Bears' Picnic will be jam-packed with fun activities for families of all shapes and sizes. There will be some captivating themed areas for the first time this year, Adventure Land, Fern Tree Gully and Hundred and One Acre Wood.

Kids of all ages will enjoy rides, art and crafts, sporting clinics, meeting celebrities, face painting, prizes, toy testing and our very special Bear Clinic, where your child can have their bear's health checked by a beary-special bear doctor.

Another highlight of the Teddy Bears' Picnic is the centre stage, where you can relax and enjoy some cool entertainment, like the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and the crew from Lazy Town.

One of the very best things about this event is that the one low ticket price covers entry and ALL activities. Tickets, on sale from 12 August from Ticketmaster, are $20* each or $60* for a family of four (kids under 12 months are free). www.ticketmaster.com.au

*booking fees may apply.

Any child carrying their teddy to the event will travel free on Cityrail trains or you can take advantage of the free parking at Rosehill Gardens.

See you on Sunday 17 October at the Teddy Bears' Picnic - don't forget your teddy!

Can't Attend But Still Want To Help?

MAKE IT A BEARY SPECIAL DAY FOR A FAMILY IN NEED

You can give disadvantaged families the opportunity to enjoy all the fun and excitement of The Teddy Bears' Picnic through the Charity Ticket Drive. With your help, The Children's Hospital at Westmead, in conjunction with local children's charities, will distribute tickets to familles in need.

Your donation will help in two ways:

  1. You will give a disadvantaged family the opportunity to enjoy the Teddy Bears' Picnic.
  2. Proceeds from these ticket sales help The Children's Hospital at Westmead to provide exceptional care for sick children and their families by funding medical equipment and vital research into the causes and cures of childhood diseases.

ATTENTION ALL SCHOOLS!

JOIN IN THE TEDDY BEARS' PICNIC FUN...

School Stage

The School Stage will showcase talented young performers from across NSW and is centre-stage for the famous Picnic Popstars Competition. Over the years, we have seen so many fantastic performers on the School Stage, so make sure you check out the upcoming talented singers and dancers.

Do you want to be a picnic popstar?

Join in the fun and win a great prize by singing and dancing to a song of your choice on the School Stage (karaoke machine available, if required). This contest is open to performers up to 12 years old.

Your performance will be judged by a special celebrity guest, Sara Groen from Channel 7, and one of our very own Clown Doctors! Entry into the contest is free but you need to register early as there are limited spots available. Unfortunately, no entries can be taken on the day of the Teddy Bears' Picnic.

It's Pyjama Rama Time

The Children's Hospital at Westmead invites you to bring all the fun and excitement of the Teddy Bears' Picnic to your school by hosting a Pyjama-Rama Picnic!

We know that not every student is able to attend the Teddy Bears' Picnic, so we encourage students and teachers to wear their pyjamas to school on a day chosen by you during September or November and each make a gold coin donation to The Children's Hospital at Westmead.

You can even host your own lunchtime picnic and invite students to bring their favourite bear along to join in the fun! By registering your Pyjama-Rama Picnic, you will go in the draw to win a digital camera for your school!

Colouring-in Competition

Another fun initiative that many schools have been involved in over the years is the colouring-in competition. One winner will be selected from each year group (across NSW). Winners will receive a family ticket to the event or a Bandaged Bear merchandise pack.

If your school would like to be involved in the School Stage, hold a Pyjama-Rama Picnic or enter the colouring-in competition, please phone Michelle Morgan on (02) 9845 3469 or email michel10@chw.edu.au

Promotional Opportunities

Do you work for a company that is interested in promoting itself at The Teddy Bears' Picnic? There are plenty of opportunities for your organisation to get involved and become part of this wonderful event. If you are interested in receiving a proposal please contact the Special Events team at events@chw.edu.au or call (02) 9845 3364.

*Note: Due to catering contracts already in place at Rosehill Gardens we are unable to utilise the services of individual or non-contracted catering companies (donated or otherwise).
