A comprehensive vascular anomalies centre for children with haemangiomas, vascular malformations and vascular tumours.

About us

The multidisciplinary Vascular Birthmarks Program was started in 1994 at the Childrens Hospital at Camperdown by Dr Maureen Rogers, Australia’s foremost paediatric dermatologist. Now based at The Childrens Hospital at Westmead, our unit has grown to be able to offer all current major treatments for haemangiomas and vascular malformations. As a tertiary referral program, our unit has a special interest in the physical and emotional care of families where a child has severe, life threatening or deforming vascular anomalies. High level clinical assessment by experts in the field is combined with state of the art imaging and treatment facilities at the Childrens Hospital at Westmead. Complex conditions can be offered the best available treatment in a supportive environment dedicated to the care of children, whether as an outpatient, inpatient or in the intensive care unit. Antenatal counselling and neonatal intensive care is available to care for more severely affected babies from the moment of diagnosis.
