| Location: | Outpatients building, level 3 | The Orthoptic Department offers a full range of paediatric orthoptic services, to support the Eye Department, at the Hospital and outreach centres at Mt Druitt and Campbelltown. The Orthoptic Department offers assessment of visual acuity, visual fields, strabismus, eye movements, binocular functions and performs visual electrophysiology assessment. The Orthoptic Department also provides support to children and families in the use of contact lenses. Treatment of orthoptic problems occurs following referral from an ophthalmologist. The orthoptists are available to advise health practitioners and families on issues related to visual development, Paediatric eye problems and vision impairment.
