| Location: | Research building, level 2 (near the staff car park) | The Nursing Research and Practice Development Unit (NRPDU) was established at the beginning of 2005 when Valerie Wilson was appointed to the directorship of the new unit. The unit co-ordinates the various nursing research endeavours of the hospital as well as enabling staff across the organisation to use the principles of practice development to explore workplace culture and improve the delivery of person-centred care. We engage nurses in research and practice development strategies that will enable them to promote their individual learning and contribute to a culture of learning organization wide. The unit has collaborative links with the University of Technology, Sydney, with Val Wilson being appointed as Professor of Nursing Research & Practice Development in the Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery and Health in 2007. AimWe aim to provide the clinical staff of the hospital with reliable resources to enable the production of high quality research and patient care. We do this using the principles of practice development. How to make an appointmentContact the Nursing Research & Practice Development Unit on 9845 1321 or contact the staff members directly via email or phone. Staff
