The Department of Molecular Genetics provides an accredited service for the molecular diagnosis of a wide range of genetics disorders. These services are extended to all states and where requested to other countries. Areas of specific expertise include testing for Rett syndrome, Marfan syndrome and Familial Mediterranean Fever. The service includes: - testing for known and unique mutations
- testing extended families
- prenatal diagnosis
- training of laboratory and clinical staff in the field of molecular genetics.
The service maintains a close liaison with all the Departments of the Western Sydney Genetics Program. How to make an appointment:The Department of Molecular Genetics is primarily a laboratory service.
