Services

Medical:

• Regular access to palliative care and pain team specialists from The Children’s Hospital at Westmead on a regular basis
• On call GP's
• 24 hour nursing care
• Pathology services through PALMS
• Stock supply of general analgesics
• Medical gases access in each child’s room
• Basic life support eg. bag and mask (if required)

Other:

• Full time chef and cleaners
• Full time Play Therapist/Teacher
• Part time Social Worker
• Live in companion dog - Scooter
• Sibling Care wherever possible
• Wheelchair accessible transport for patient transfers eg. For medical appointments and recreational activities
• Bereavement Support Groups
• Sibling Support Groups

Bear Cottage is operational 24 hours a day with round the clock nursing staff
