After hours Dr on-call:

The Diabetes Centre provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient diabetes services to children and adolescents in the metropolitan area and regional NSW through our Hospital-based and outreach services. Services are provided by a multi-disciplinary team including physicians, diabetes educators, dietitians and social worker professionals. The services provided are:

• inpatient services including diagnostic, acute care, education and stabilisation of newly diagnosed and pre-existing diabetes
• diabetes day care program (ambulatory stabilisation of new patients)
• post-discharge clinic for newly diagnosed children with diabetes
• diabetes outpatient clinic
• adolescent diabetes outpatient clinic
• country diabetes outreach clinics in Tamworth, Armidale, Grafton, Ballina, Lismore, Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie, Forster, Bathurst, Orange, Dubbo, Mudgee, Wagga Wagga and Nowra
• outpatient education, counselling and support services
• outpatient diabetes telephone service (office hours)
• 24 hour urgent diabetes telephone service - for families and health professionals (by calling the Hospital switchboard on 9845 0000 and asking for the diabetes doctor-on-call)
• facilitation of parent support groups, toddler support groups, adolescent groups, grandparent and babysitter information evenings and education days for children with diabetes.
