Clinic days:The Cleft Palate Clinic at The Children's Hospital at Westmead is a multidisciplinary, integrated service for the assessment and surgical management of children with cleft lip and/or palate defects or velopharyngeal incompetence. The clinic accepts referrals from agencies from all over NSW, interstate and overseas. The Maternity Units refer newborn infants to the Cleft Palate Clinic, preferably within 48 hours of birth. This can be done by contacting the Cleft Palate Clinic Secretary. The Attending Medical Officer also provides a written referral to the clinic. Other cleft conditions (including velopharyngeal incompetence) can be referred through the same process, with a written medical referral being sent to: Cleft Palate Clinic The Children's Hospital at Westmead Locked Bag 4001 Westmead N.S.W. 2145 Fact Sheets:Cleft lip and palate Cleft lip and palate - feeding your baby Cleft palate clinic Staff- Dr Peter Hayward, Head of Cleft Palate Clinic, Plastic Surgeon
