Paediatric Sleep Medicine

• The metabolic complications of OSA in children
• Autonomic function in infants

Control of Breathing During Early Development

• Development of the circadian cycle in piglets
• Effects of nicotine and intermittent hypercapnic hypoxia on ventilatory responses of piglets
• Development of a test to examine changes in peripheral vs central chemoreceptor function during development

Neuropathology of SIDS

• Effects of nicotine and/or intermittent hypercapnic hypoxia on brain cell death
• Determining the role of the neurotrophin system in brain cell death after intermittent hypercapnic hypoxia
