Service:

The Physical Disability Clinic offers a consultancy service for children and adolescents with predominantly physical disabilities that are congenital or acquired early in life (such as those children with Cerebal Palsy) and other acquired physical disabilities such as spinal cord injury and disease and brachial plexus injury. The clinic assists in coordinating the child's needs by providing consultations, advice and support to parents and families, health professionals, teachers and others who are involved in the care of children with physical disabilities. We coordinate referral to other specialised services and programs where appropriate.

Who can attend the clinic?

Children of any age, from birth until they leave school, their parents and carers. Any professional involved in the child's care is also welcome to attend with the family.

  • Consultation and advice regarding speech, language and communication; feeding; fine and gross motor skills; developmental progress; handwriting and classroom skills; equipment needs; splints and orthoses; education and schooling; bladder and bowel management; activities of daily living; medical needs.
