School Teacher

A Teacher from the hospital school works with both primary and high school students, as part of their rehabilitation. In the early stages of the child/young person's recovery, the Teacher might see the student on a one-to-one basis. When able, the student will be encouraged to go to the hospital classroom. With parental permission contact will be made with the student's school to gather information about their school work done prior to admission to hospital. This assists the team to plan for the student's return to school once they are discharged.
