Education Day for Teachers of Children with an Acquired Brain Injury

The Rehabilitation Department of The Children's Hospital at Westmead together with the Department of Education and Training hold an education day annually about children with acquired brain injury.

The day is generally held in Term 1 of the academic year with the target audience being teachers, integration aides and therapists.

The day is comprised of several lectures followed by seminars in the late morning and afternoon, with opportunity to discuss individual cases and liaise with rehabilitation staff.

The goals of the day are to provide information about the nature of acquired brain injury, to acknowledge the family's needs and to provide strategies for the day to day management in the classroom.
