Education Day for Teachers of Children with an Acquired Brain Injury

The Brain Injury Service, Kids Rehab, The Children's Hospital at Westmead hosts an annual Education Day for teachers about children with acquired brain injury.

The day is generally held early in the academic year with the target audience being teachers, integration aides and therapists.

The day is comprised of several lectures followed by seminars in the late morning and afternoon, with opportunity to discuss individual cases and liaise with staff from The Brain Injury Service.

The goals of the day are to provide information about the nature of acquired brain injury, how it impacts on the developing child, and to provide strategies for the day to day management of students with acquired brain injury in the classroom. In addition there are seminars that target issues such as the impact of the child's injury on family life, possible changes to speech and language development following a brain injury and behavioural challenges.

Please feel free to phone Kids Rehab on 9845 2131 or 9845 2132 to make enquiries regarding this day.
