Cytogenetics
Welcome to the Cytogenetics Department at The Children's Hospital at Westmead. The Department of Cytogenetics provides a NATA accredited service for the diagnosis of a wide range of constitutional and acquired cytogenetic disorders.
These services are extended to all States and forms part of both the CHW Division of Laboratory Services and the Western Sydney Genetics Program. It covers Constitutional (blood), Oncology and Prenatal testing. We also offer Microarray CGH (60K targeted array) , FISH (fluorescence in situ hybridisation) and PCR testing (biopsy specimens only).
