Ponseti Clubfoot Clinic

Neglected Clubfoot

Ponseti treatment can still be used successfully with feet that have never been treated.

We would always attempt this first at any age.

But research indicates that if the child is over 2 years, then treatment with Ponseti method will probably not be enough and more extensive surgery may be required to correct the deformity.

The main point is, that we need to avoid neglected CTEV, and we need to start treating these child soon after they are born.

In a centre that is experienced in treating CTEV successfully regularly with the Ponseti method.
