Exercise Testing

Exercise testing involves a walk/run on our treadmill or cycling on a bike until you are exhausted, we will monitor your breathing during the test with a mouthpiece you need to breath through and may also monitor your heart with leads - the picture below shows the treadmill and equipment we use.

What to bring:

  • Running shoes/trainers
  • Shorts and a t-shirt to change into, or wear comfortable and loose fitting clothes

The day before the test:

  • Drink plenty of fluids
  • Get a good nights sleep

The day of the test:

  • Avoid food, caffeine for 3 hrs before taking the test
  • Avoid exercise the day of the test
