CHISM Exercise Testing

Exercise testing involves a walk/run on our treadmill or cycling on a bike until you are exhausted. We will monitor your breathing and hear rate during the test. The picture below shows the treadmill and equipment we use.

What to bring for an Exercise Test:

  • Running shoes/trainers
  • Shorts and a t-shirt to change into, or wear comfortable and loose fitting clothes

The day before the test:

  • Drink plenty of fluids
  • Get a good nights sleep

The day of the test:

  • Avoid food, caffeine for 3 hrs before taking the test
  • Avoid exercise the day of the test
