Child Development Unit Clinics

Location Children's Assessment Centre, Level 3 Outpatient Building
Appointments Ph: (02) 9845 2395 (Intake Officer). All appointments are given only after consideration of intake details, appropriateness and priority. (no appointment will be given upon a phone referral)

Clinic days Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm
Method of referring

Referral from managing paediatrician required. A letter to named consultant with clear statement of goals of assessment and a completed CDU referral form (attached) to be provided for Intake proceeds. All referrals will go through an Intake process to discuss and prioritise appropriate assessment and service required.

  • Primary and secondary services should be previously utilised and information /reports provided.
  • All enquiries regarding making referral to child Development Unit can be discussed with the Intake officer of the day.
Functions of the clinic CDU is a tertiary diagnostic and assessment centre providing comprehensive multidisciplinary service to children with complex developmental problems.
Special Interests

Developmental disorders e.g. severe language impairment, autism, neurodevelopmental disorder associated with medical conditions requiring neuropsychological assessment, complex learning difficulties associated with comorbidity.
