Centre Goals
Our goal is to work as a team, including parents, or other persons responsible, staff and children to provide high quality child centred care. We aim to develop the whole child physically, socially, emotionally, intellectually, linguistically and creatively.
In respect of the children
- To acknowledge the uniqueness of each child, and to develop an appreciation of each other's differences, similarities and uniqueness.
- To be non-discriminatory.
- To foster the development of each child in all areas of their development - social, emotional, language, physical and cognitive.
- To foster the development of trust and respect in themselves and in others.
- To enhance each child's self -esteem and autonomy.
- To provide a stimulating and challenging program based on play.
- To provide a happy, healthy and safe environment for all.
In respect of families
- To develop positive relationships with families based on mutual trust and open communication.
- To acknowledge the uniqueness of each family and the significance of its culture, customs, language and beliefs.
- To encourage participation.
- To promote the link between families, home and school.
In respect of staff
- To build and maintain an atmosphere of trust, respect and openness, and tolerance.
- To build a commitment to working as part of a team of carers and educators.
- To communicate openly.
- To work to maintain and improve the standard of care and education offered to the children.
- To demonstrate and develop professionalism at all times.
- To abide by the Early Childhood code of Ethics.
In respect of the community
- To provide a program which is responsive to Hospital and community needs.
- To encourage input and involvement in relative community bodies and events.
In relation to the environment
- To provide safe, secure, functional, stimulating, aesthetically pleasing, homely and hygienic environment in an atmosphere of warmth, love and fun.
