Art For Healing
Butterflies image gallery
Art for Healing is a Community Cultural Development project involving a dynamic mix of participants including inpatients, outpatients, families of patients, hospital staff and artists. The aim of this is to develop public art for the hospital and creative experience for patients.
In 2004 the hallway between Wade Ward and AMU was selected by patients for improvement through a CCD art installation. Over 4000 people shared this vision. 8000 cardboard butterflies were decorated and installed in the hallway creating a vibrant tunnel of colour and movement.
For 2005 our CCD project is a two piece installation of artworks in clear cd cases and specinmen jars. The cases are clear and measure 13.8cm x 11.8cm x 5mm. The jars (clear with a yellow lid) measure 4cm in diameter and 4cm in height (without the lid).
