Healthy Kids: a parents' guide
The Children of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Backgrounds Mental Health Project is a joint initiative of the Department of Psychological Medicine at The Children's Hospital at Westmead and the Transcultural Mental Health Centre. The project aims to work in partnership to improve the mental health of children and their families from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds living in NSW.
As part of the project, a multilingual multimedia community awareness campaign promoting the mental health and wellbeing of children has been developed. The project includes the development of culturally and linguistically appropriate fact sheets about anxiety, disruptive disorders, depression and anorexia nervosa. The fact sheets and audio files are available in Arabic, Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin audio), Farsi/Persian, Filipino, Hindi, Spanish, Turkish, Vietnamese and English.
Each fact sheet (Adobe Acrobat PDF) is also available as a voice recording (MP3 audio).
The following fact sheets are available to read, to print or to listen to:
Anxiety in Children
Disruptive Disorders in Children
Depression in Children
Anorexia Nervosa in Children
NSW Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services [English only]
