| Cello Lullaby is a recording of soothing classical music made for a therapeutic purpose. It is used to provide a sense of calm for children. It has also been developed to assist in the management of unsettled and crying babies. The arrangement of music is designed to help infants, children and adults relax and sleep. It was produced by Dr Catherine Crock at the Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne who wanted music to play for children needing bone marrow and lumbar puncture procedures as part of their treatment for cancer. The music was performed by leading Australian classical artists, Alfred Hornung and Niall Brown. It was generously recorded for the hospital by John Rowland of Rowland Productions. The selection of works includes masterpieces by Handel, Bach, Vivaldi, Haydn, Brahms and Couperin. |
