General Information
Join the party as we celebrate the 20th anniversary Bandaged Bear Day! Throughout the month of March, raise vital funds to help The Children's Hospital at Westmead care for over 60,000 sick children and their families each year. Donations also fund research into childhood illness, purchase of high-tech equipment and the provision of extra services for children and families. All donations contribute towards the world-class standard of care at The Children's Hospital at Westmead and the healing environment where fun and laughter line the road to recovery.
Bandaged Bear has worn many coloured coats over the years. In honour of this year's 20th anniversary milestone, Bandaged Bear will sport a party-themed coat!
When is the Bandaged Bear Day Appeal?
The 2009 Bandaged Bear Day Appeal marks the 20th anniversary of this wonderful event and you will be able to support The Children's Hospital at Westmead by donating to the Appeal or purchasing Bandaged Bear Day merchandise throughout the month of March. In 2009, the highlight of the Appeal - Bandaged Bear Day itself will be celebrated on Friday 27 March.
What is Bandaged Bear Day?
The Bandaged Bear Day Appeal is a major merchandise fundraising appeal for The Children's Hospital at Westmead. Merchandise is on sale at a variety of outlets throughout New South Wales for the month of March.
Friday 27 March, Bandaged Bear Day, is the highlight of the Appeal with hundreds of volunteers on the streets selling the bright and colourful merchandise. The Hospital relies heavily on the support of the community to make this day an overwhelming success.
Bandaged Bear Day also provides the community with the opportunity to hold their own fundraising event. Why not organise a "party celebration" with friends, family, work colleagues or your school. The funds you raise will make a it difference to the lives of children and their families at The Children's Hospital at Westmead.
Where does the money go?
All proceeds raised from the sale of Bandaged Bear Day merchandise go directly to The Children's Hospital at Westmead. The funds are directed to the areas of the Hospital most in need at the time. Every dollar we receive goes directly toward supporting the amazing work done at the Hospital, and ultimately, impacts the lives of sick kids and their families.
