Risk Leadership Award
The TMF Awards for Excellence recognise and celebrate leading risk management practice within the NSW public sector. The risk management achievements driven by the Chief Executive prompted SCHN to submit an application in the 2012 leadership category to be judged by an independent panel from academia, industry and risk backgrounds.
From The Sublime to the Ridiculous

Bandaged Bear's Big Day Out
Luna Park will be the place to be on Sunday, 9th of September for the inaugural Bandaged Bear's Big Day Out. This new event (replacing the Teddy Bear's Picnic) is an opportunity for Sydneysiders to enjoy an affordable day out packed full of fun, while raising the essential funds needed to continue providing sick children at The Children's Hospital at Westmead with the highest quality of care.
TOY DONATION BRINGS BIG SMILES TO SMALL FACES - TUESDAY 26TH JUNE, 2012
Christmas has come early at The Children's Hospital at Westmead following today's delivery of more than $20,000 worth of toys, games and electronics, thanks to the generosity of Target and Hasbro. Boxes and boxes of brand new toys and electronics, including iPads, were delivered to the Hospital where they will be put to good use as tools for pain management, distraction, education, therapeutic play and stimulation.
Australia’s First Hospital Labyrinth
The Children's Hospital at Westmead is the first hospital in Australia to have a labyrinth. A labyrinth, having only one path, requires no decisions. Walking a labyrinth helps foster mindfulness, relaxation and refreshment. The dedication ceremony was held on 23rd June 2012. The labyrinth is located in the children's garden at the ned of the pathway.
Team Bandaged Bear welcomes the 2012 Sun-Herald City2Surf
Official entry to the Sun-Herald City2Surf is now open! If you haven't already registered, make sure that you secure your place to participate in Sydney's favourite community sporting event on Sunday 12 August 2012. The City2Surf is one of the most important fundraising events for The Children's Hospital at Westmead and Bear Cottage, with all funds raised going towards supporting these two very special places of care.
Expansion of the Public Car park
The Children's Hospital at Westmead is expanding the Public Car Park to create 144 additional parking spaces for families and visitors and to install a lift.
The 2012 Bandaged Bear Appeal
With the 23rd Annual Bandaged Bear Appeal running throughout March 2012, The Children's Hospital at Westmead is asking the community to touch the life of a seriously ill child by holding a Bandaged Bear Breakfast, making a donation or purchasing Bandaged Bear Appeal merchandise.
