Bandaged Bear goes Blue for Diabetes
UN World Diabetes Day is on Wed 14th November. To celebrate, 140 famous buildings around the world (including the Sydney Opera House) are lighting up in blue to promote awareness. The theme this year is Diabetes in Children and Adolescents.
A380 auction raises over $1.9 million
Bidders have opened their wallets with generosity and enthusiasm to support the Singapore Airlines A380 First Flight Charity Auction, with Australians making up the largest contingent - comprising 15% of successful bidders.

World aviation history will be made when the world's first double-decker superjumbo - the Singapore Airlines A380 - makes its First Flight to Sydney Airport on Thursday 25 October, and returns to Singapore on Friday 26 October. In a world-first, all proceeds from the sale of tickets on the First Flight will be donated to select charities, including The Children's Hospital at Westmead!
Kids Cancer Support funds song writing technology for kids
Kids Cancer Support have donated a laptop computer to the Hospital's Music Therapy Department to provide much-needed technology for portable song writing. This donation means that sick children are given a much-needed outlet for emotional and creative release during their Hospital stay.
Brighten a Kids Day at The Children's Hospital at Westmead
Leading fashion designer Bruno Schiavi has joined together with celebrities and sporting stars to host a party at The Children's Hospital at Westmead on Wednesday 8th August 2007. Coming to meet the kids are Nickelodeon's Joy Smithers, Dora & Boots, Asha Keurten, Holly Brisley, the Totally Wild team, Saturday Disney hosts and Sydney Swan players. They will spend the morning in the wards chatting with more than 280 children and delivering some well-deserved presents to help make the children's stay in the hospital just that little bit more comfortable and enjoyable.
NSW Fire Brigades - '400 in 4' Charity Bike Ride
A group comprising firefighters from the N.S.W Fire Brigades and some representatives of the major sponsors are raising funds for the Burns Unit at the Children's Hospital at Westmead by cycling over 400 kilometres from Campbelltown fire station to Wagga Wagga over 4 days.
