CHW announced as beneficiaries from unique golfing tournament
The Children's Hospital at Westmead (CHW) has been announced as the beneficiaries of the Sydney Invitational Charity Pro-Am Touramant in March 2007.
Meriton has re-signed as the Major Naming Rights Sponsor for the 2007 Sydney Invitational Charity Pro-am.
The 72-hole tournament will be played from Monday 26th to Thursday 29th March (just prior to Easter), and will conclude with a Gala Presentation Dinner at the Star City Casino where over 400 guests will help raise money for charity.
John Small, the Tournament Director said "Thanks to Meriton's ongoing support, along with the generosity of our other sponsors and the players we have been able to raise in excess of $150,000 for charity in just three years since the tournament commenced. 2007 will be no different and we will be donating all money raised to The Children's Hospital at Westmead.
Small further added, "The Sydney Invitational is one of the most unique events on the golfing calendar with each professional playing with three amateurs as a team for the four days. What makes the tournament 'a must play event' is that the pros win prizemoney based not only on their individual score but the amateurs help their pro win prizemoney based upon the team nett and team scratch scores - now that is fun, pressure-packed and unique".
The 2007 event will see only 60 teams (240 players) compete over the Twin Creeks, Terrey Hills, Macquarie Links, and the Lakes layouts. The courses will be set for championship play and over $30,000 worth of trophies and prizes on offer for the amateurs.
Entry forms and further information about this event is available from www.sydneyinvitational.com.au or by phoning (02) 9989 8289.
