The Von Trapp Children Sing & - The Hospital is Alive With The Sound of Music

The Von Trapp family's story was told in the hit film "The Sound of Music". Now the hills are alive again with the voices of the great-grandchildren of Captain and Maria von Trapp.

The von Trapp Children - Sofia (16), Melanie (14), Amanda (13) and Justin (9) will be performing in the Starlight Express Room at The Children's Hospital at Westmead on Tuesday 31st August at 10.30am.

The von Trapp Children, grandchildren of Werner (Kurt in the movie) formed in 2002 to carry on the tradition of the Trapp Family Singers and continue to enchant audiences with traditional folksongs and also with greatly loved favourites from The Sound of Music.

The children's effervescent voices mesh together the way only a family's can, and musicians and audiences of all ages recognise their beautiful harmonic blend and pristine tone.

The children are currently on a national tour but are delighted to take time out of their tour to pay the patients at The Hospital a special visit.

To coincide with the tour, Universal Music will release a CD entitled "The von Trapp Children" featuring recordings of songs they will perform while in Australia and New Zealand.
