Kids R Christmas
A special group of individuals will come together on Wednesday 4 December from 10.30am to hold the 3rd annual Kids R Christmas Magical and Fantasy Parade at The Children's Hospital at Westmead.
The Kids R Christmas concept originated in the mind of Tim Lassig who wanted to do something great for sick kids and gathered an enthusiastic group of around 25 celebrities, professional entertainers, face painters, fairies, pirates, princesses and many others to tour the wards of The Children's Hospital at Westmead handing out balloons and gifts to the children. This year's event has been dramatically boosted by a generous donation from Franklins. They have kindly contributed $4000 for the purchase of toys and gifts for kids of all ages and five polaroid cameras with enough film to take 500 photographs on the day. The photographs will be distributed to the patients as a special memento of this spectacular event.
This year the Kids R Christmas concept also stretches beyond The Children's Hospital at Westmead with groups visiting sick children at Sydney Children's Hospital at Randwick and Royal North Shore Hospital.
"We want to offer a ray of inspiration and distraction from the circumstance these young people are experiencing. It is a very simple concept with some amazing results", said Kids R Christmas Coordinator, Tim Lassig.
Christmas is a very special time at The Children's Hospital at Westmead with a range of activities and celebrations being held over the next few weeks to share the Christmas spirit and provide children with a way to relax and enjoy the fun party atmosphere.
