Bandaged Bear Books - book launch and book fair
Scholastic has written a series of Bandaged Bear Books for the Hospital. The books address a number of different issues that affect children regarding health, safety and hospitals, educating them in a non-threatening and entertaining way. From asthma to broken legs and hospital, the books are a great read, beautifully illustrated and guaranteed to be a big success. To coincide with the launch, Scholastic has organised a book fair to entertain patients, friends and staff. Profit from the book fair will come to the Hospital. The book fair and launch will be held Wednesday, 7 November at the Book Bunker on Level 1, The Children's Hospital at Westmead from 12 noon.
"The books are going to be a great way for kids to learn about hospitals without being frightened. They are also a great way to teach children about preventing accidents to keep them out of hospital in the first place. But more importantly, they are a great read," said Prof Kim Oates.
