Grandparents: Keeping Grandchildren Safe and Healthy
This is an invitation to you and any other grandparents in your community who would like to attend a free information session at the New Children's Hospital, Westmead. It is an event organised by Grandparenting NSW - an association established in 1998 by the Council On The Ageing NSW (COTA) and Kids Health (the Child Health Promotion Unit at The New Children's Hospital, Westmead).
This very special information session "Grandparents: Keeping Grandchildren Safe and Healthy", will take place on Thursday 10th of August and will cover important issues such as road safety, safety around the home, mental health and self-esteem. Small discussion groups will also take place to give all participants an opportunity to share their experiences. The information session will run from 9AM - 1PM with refreshments served at the beginning and a light lunch at the end.
One of the objectives of the session is to encourage the establishment of a continuing grandparents group in the Parramatta region. Grandparenting NSW is dedicated to raising grandparent awareness and identity, through education, research, programs, communication and networking. Grandparenting NSW promotes the involvement of grandparents as agents of beneficial change for families and society.
