Applications are invited for the Sydney Neonatal Registrar Rotation commencing 22nd January 2007. Appointments are for one or two years and will involve rotations between NICU at the following hospitals and services: NSW Newborn and Paediatric Emergency Transport Service (NETS), Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Westmead Hospital, The Children's Hospital at Westmead, Royal North Shore Hospital and Liverpool Hospital. All are located within the Sydney Metropolitan Area.

This is an opportunity to acquire comprehensive training in neonatology; including neonatal transport, management of extremely premature infants, modern ventilation techniques, neonatal ultrasound, neonatal surgery and cardiology and developmental follow up. There may be research opportunities and all units are affiliated with one of the two major universities of NSW. Sydney is an exciting city in which to live with many attractions, including intellectual and cultural pursuits, beautiful scenery and beaches.

Fellow In Emergency Medicine Job Description Adobe Acrobat PDF

The Children's Hospital at Westmead is a major trauma and burns centre in NSW and the Emergency Department is one of the busiest in the country. Candidates are required to be in their final year of advanced training with either the Australian College of Physicians (Paediatrics) or the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine. With regards to trainees in Emergency Medicine, twelve months previous paediatric experience is required. It is desirable for applicants to have experience in Intensive Care and Retrieval Medicine.

The fellowships are structured around a core curriculum including clinical, research, administrative and teaching activities. The research focus may be in an area of special interest. Clinical exposure is varied, with duties including day, after hours and weekend responsibilities. The fellows are supported by an emergency physician at all times.
