Workplace Giving

What starts as small regular deductions can quickly grow to a significant contribution especially when multiplied by a number of employees. Workplace Giving provides the opportunity for employees to donate to charity through regular payroll deduction. These donations are made out of pre-tax dollars and employees nominate any amount to donate to the charity of their choice.

When an employee donates via regular payroll deductions, employers can reduce the amount withheld from that employee's pay. Donations are effectively conducted pre-tax, with the donation and tax deduction happening at the same time. This means employees no longer have to wait until the end of financial year to benefit from their donation. Their taxable income is reduced by the amount of their donation and they receive the refund at the same time as they contribute.

For any organisation it is a simple way to demonstrate your commitment to staff and what is important to them and the community. By matching your employees' donations, you double the effect of your employees' dollar and give them an extra incentive to get involved.

Workplace Giving is a great way to support the work of The Children's Hospital at Westmead and is becoming an increasingly popular way to make a donation, being cost effective and efficient. It benefits all parties involved.

It enables the Hospital to plan for the future and fund the purchase of equipment, pioneering research projects, and strategic clinical initiatives.

To make it easy for your staff to support their chosen charity you can choose to set up this system through your payroll, either on your own or working with one of our partners:

For employees it's an easy way of giving more to their favourite charities, at no extra cost.

So, by working together, everyone - employees, employers, government and the Hospital can make a lasting difference to the lives of sick children and their families.
