Woolworths & their customers, through the Fresh Future Appeals, have been supporting CHW for the past 10 years. In 2004, Woolworths reached the milestone of 10 million dollars to CHW in 10 years. The Appeal is a national campaign under the name of the Woolworths "Fresh Future" Appeal for Children's Hospitals. Fundraising goes all year in earnest by some enthusiastic Woolworth's stores and staff who want to get 'the jump' on their fellow colleagues. The 'friendly' competition amongst staff, areas and regions is contagious and the race to be 'the top store, area or region' is an incentive and a challenge. Woolworth's staff work hard to garner support from customers, with the sale of the Bandaged Bear merchandise which in 2005 included, a magnificent new flashing pen, key rings and a lapel pin. There is also collection tins, fresh future flower bouquets and raffles throughout all their stores, and promotional material is in full colour which gives the campaign a fresh look.

Woolworths staff hold a range of fundraising events and activities such as sausage sizzles, car washes, sell cakes and lamingtons, hold mufti days and trivia nights amongst other activities. They really enjoy the Appeal and put the "fun" into fundraising. We are also fortunate enough to have Woolworth's be a supporter for our Teddy Bears Picnic ($25,000). The WW monies go towards equipments, research and additional services. The Renal Treatment Centre would not have been possible without the Woolworths commitment. The Woolworths team has not only assisted us by raising much-needed funds for vital equipment and programs, they have also give $220 - 250,000 to regional and country hospitals around NSW and ACT every year. The commitment by both the Hospital and Woolworths to this campaign on an annual basis is extra-ordinary. We operate as a full integrated team and work closely together on all aspects on this appeal.
